INSTRUCTIONS; KEY TO RAISING KINGDOM CHAMPIONS
Text β Proverbs 10:17; Isaiah 1:18β19
β’ In writing examinations in Nigeria:
β’ No matter how intelligent you are, taking instructions will determine your grade.
β’ For example, the examiner says: βAnswer five questions, one from each section.β
β’ Section A has six questions.
β’ Section B has two questions.
β’ Section C has three questions.
β’ Section D has one question.
β’ Section E has four questions.
β’ If you answer five questions correctly in Section A and think you will score 100%, you will be disappointed because you did not follow the instructions.
β’ You will only score 20%.
β’ An intelligent person needs to take instructions to pass his or her examinations.
β’ In this church, Rev. Emmanuel Ekeke is the Senior Pastor.
β’ If the Youth Pastor, Music Pastor or any other assistant pastor wants to enjoy the Senior Pastorβs favour, he must learn to take instructions. If not, he may never be favoured by him.
β’ As believers, if we must enjoy Godβs favour and blessing, we must learn to take instructions from:
β’ God, the Holy Spirit, the Bible, the Pastor, Deacons and other leaders.
β’ No matter how long you have been a believer, the key to becoming a champion is taking instructions.
β’ Prayers and fasting will fail if you do not take instructions.
β’ Proverbs 10:17 says, βHe is in the way of life that keeps instruction…β
β’ Solomon learned so much from his father.
β’ The lessons he learned made life easy and smooth for him.
β’ For us to enjoy our faith in Christ Jesus, it is tied to taking instructions, according to Isaiah 1:19.
β’ βIf you are willing and obedient, it is only then you can eat the good of the land.β
β’ In Isaiah 1:18, the Scripture says, βCome and let us reason together.β
β’ After reasoning together with the Lord, God will give us a true picture of ourselves: where we are, where we are going and how to arrive there.
β’ If you then follow His instructions:
β’ No matter where you are today;
β’ No matter the situation and circumstances around you today.
β’ There are many examples in the Scriptures and the contemporary world.
β’ In the Gospels, there are stories of three different blind men:
β’ One was referred to as Blind Bartimaeus.
β’ The second was referred to as the blind man.
β’ The third was called the man born blind.
β’ When Blind Bartimaeus met Jesus, the Lord spoke a word and he regained his sight.
β’ When the blind man met Jesus, the Lord touched him twice and he regained his sight.
β’ When the man born blind met Jesus, the Lord gave him a specific instruction to go and wash at the pool of Siloam, a distance of over two miles.
β’ It was in obeying that instruction that his sight was restored.
β’ You cannot become a champion if you fail to take instructions.
β’ In 2 Kings 5, the story of Naaman the leper is well known.
β’ Elisha told him to go and wash openly in the River Jordan seven times.
β’ The miracle only came when he had obeyed.
β’ The story of Rev. E. A. Adeboye:
β’ The former G.O. said, βGo and close your accounts and letβs build a camp.β
β’ He was the only one who did, and today he is a giant in the Kingdom of God.
β’ The widow of Zarephath survived the famine with her child for three years because she gave the last plate of food to a true man of God.
β’ The woman of Shunem got a son because of what she did for Elisha β 2 Kings 4.
β’ The widowed sister in Abuja was instructed to sell the duplex of her late husband for the church work.
β’ Marriages, businesses, churches and pastors have failed for not obeying instructions.
β’ Illustrated with the story of the young man who graduated from the university in Nigeria and remained without a job for six years.
β’ He decided to pray and fast for seven days:
β’ One day for each year of joblessness.
β’ As he started the cleaning assignment, the Lord opened a cleaning job.
β’ A mechanical engineer prospered by reason of taking instructions from the Lord.
β’ You too can enjoy your faith as you do the same.
