HELP WILL COME!

TOPIC: HELP WILL COME
TEXT: Psalm 121:1-8; Daniel 3:1-28
Psalm 121:1-8: I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
Daniel 3:1-28: Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.
2 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
3 Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
4 Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,
5 That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:
6 And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
7 Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
8 Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews.
9 They spake and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever.
10 Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image:
11 And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
12 There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
13 Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king.
14 Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?
15 Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?
16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.
17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
19 Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.
20 And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.
21 Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
22 Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flames of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
26 Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.
27 And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.
28 Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.

Introduction: Life, as you all know, is full of challenges, and these manifest in every area of life’s endeavor. The fact still remains that for the believers in Christ Jesus, God is our refuge and strength, and very present help in the time of trouble. Although this is the plain truth, the fact still remains that many Christians all over the world, are unable to access this help, whenever they are in trouble.
What to do:
1. Look up: Psalms 121: 1-2; 34:5; 123:1; John. 11:41; Acts 7: 55
Psalms 121: 1-2 – I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
Psalms 34:5 – 5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
John. 11:41 – 41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
Acts 7: 55 – 55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
When we look up to God, from whom comes our help, our life is impacted positively because He is the creator of heaven and earth. When we look up to God almighty in every situation we find ourselves, we will not experience shame in our lives. As Christians, we should cultivate the habit of looking to God in absolute dependence, because He neither fails nor does He disappoint.
2. Always learn to stand upon His promises: Psalms. 121:3-5; 16: 8; 46:5; 55:22; 125:1; 1 Kings. 8:56
Psalms. 121:3-5 – 3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. 4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
Psalms 16: 8 – 8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Psalms 46:5 – 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
Psalms 125:1 – They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.
1 Kings. 8:56 – 56 Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.
When we stand on the promises of God, he will cause us not to be moved and we will never be disappointed because as our keeper, He neither sleeps nor slumbers. When we make sure that God is always in our midst, we will not be moved; the help He sends to us will always reach us early. The promises of God in Christ Jesus are yea and amen, hence the need to stand upon them at all times.
3. Always depend on Him (God) absolutely: Ps. 121: 6-8, Ps. 127: 1; Jer. 10: 23; Jn. 3: 27, 2 Cor. 3:5
Ps. 121: 6-8 – 6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. 8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
Ps. 127: 1 – Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
Jer. 10: 23 – 23 O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
Jn. 3: 27 – 27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
Jer. 10: 23 – 23 O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
2 Cor. 3:5 – 5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
We need to depend on God absolutely whenever we are faced with the challenges of life, to receive help from Him. When we do this, He will preserve our going out and coming in. Whatever we do in life, which God is not involved in, will not amount to anything. One cannot receive anything except it is given to one from heaven.
Conclusion:
When we, as Christians learn to look up; stand upon His promises and depend absolutely upon Him, we will not only receive the help we need to go through life successfully, His strength will be made perfect in our weaknesses. May the almighty God help us to accomplish this daily in Jesus name. Amen.

46 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

8 Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth.
9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.
