SEVEN STEPS TO SUCCEED IN THE NEW YEAR
TEXT: Joshua 3:5; Daniel 6:3; 1Samuel 16:13
Joshua 3:5 – 5 And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the Lord will do wonders among you.
Daniel 6:3 – 3 Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
1Samuel 16:13 – 13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.
Introduction
The New Year is the period which ends an old year and opens the gate to another year.
Welcome to the New Year!
What to do:
1. There must be a determination in your hearts to live for God and to serve Him. Matt 6:24 (24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.)
2. You must live a life of discipline commitment to the things of God. 1Kings 8:61 (61 Let your heart therefore be perfect with the Lord our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.)
3. You must be consecrated and dedicated to the house of God and the works of God. Romans 12:1 (I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.)
4. You must be willing to make sacrifices in all things, spiritually, physically and financially. Matt 19:29 (29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.)
Romans 6:13 (13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.)
5. You must invest in to your prayer life. (Create more time with God, your study life, devotion life and family altar) Hebrews 4:16 (16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.)
1Thessalonians 5:16-19 (16 Rejoice evermore.17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 19 Quench not the Spirit.)
6. Know the kind of friends or people you move with. (Choose your friends and acquaintances wisely) 1Corinthians 15:33 (33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.)
7. Your must seek for His presence always. Psalm 105:4 (4 Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.)
Conclusion:
God has a good plan for you in this New Year. All you need to do is to live for God, serve Him and be committed to His work. He shall bless you.
